Article Demon has recently been released. How does it stack up? Well put it this way: there is some software on the market that’s really revolutionized the way I’ve been building my backlinks and Article Demon is one such product.
But I want to make it clear: you don’t “need” Article Demon to get links, make money, or whatever. What Article Demon does is helps you get one type of backlink very easily (and effeciently): Article backlinks. And it does this job very well indeed. However, there are a number of programs that do the same thing (Article Bot, Article Marketing Robot, Magic Article Submitter, etc). My take on Article Bot that it’s the best of the bunch, IF you put a bit of extra work into making it better…but more on that later in the review.
Now, I’m normally very leery of using internet marketing software. There is so much crap that’s promoted simply to suck money from gullible people trying to make a buck online. I myself only use a handful of off-the-shelf programs (having found long ago that those hype up internet marketing products do nothing at all).

And that’s it folks. That’s all you really need to do well (and you don’t even need some of the stuff I have listed). Besides, of course, lots and lots of time building backlinks, doing keyword research, writing content, and building backlinks.
Now, first a bit about what I do. I’m an internet marketer. The bread and butter of what I do come from my ability to RANK sites. And rank sites I can do folks. I rank lots and lots of sites. So let’ me just say, I know what I’m doing.
You are no doubt looking for a legit Article Demon review. Considering that most internet marketing product reviews are full of salesy reviews trying to earn commissions, this is no surprise. I’ve actually only found a couple other real Article Demon reviews so far (and that’s saying a lot about the state of this industry folks). To help you folks find the information you’re looking for, I’ve create a four thousand word ArticleDemon review and toss in some techniques to use this software to help rank your sites fast.

Article Demon has really changed the way my own backlink workflow goes and I’m sure it will for you to – IF you know how to use it right. But that’s where this article demon review/tutorial comes in.
Why Should You Buy ArticleDemon
This is the part where I’m suppose to tell you how this software will change your life, make you money while you sleep, and allow you to sleep on a Bahamma beach with a babe on each knee.
The truth is, the program is very good, but you don’t need it to make money. I certainly make a lot of money and did so before even getting this program. However, the site WILL help you get backlinks, which is pretty important.
So why should you buy this? Quite simple, really: Because it’s the best article submission software currently on the market and it will help you rank your sites fast, which will in turn help you make more money online. And I’m not joking folks – you can really get a ton of good backlinks with this program. Now I don’t want to mislead anyone into buying this program. Do you HAVE TO HAVE this program to rank your sites and/or make money on the web? Absolutely not! But it certainly can make ranking sites easier, if you use it right.
Here’s a basic list of what it can do:
- Automatically create and verify accounts at hundreds of built in article directories.
- Add in additional supported article directories to the software that use popular article directories scripts like ArticleFriendly, ArticleDashboard and more.
- Automatic scheduling of article submissions and project management to keep your submissions organized.
- Built in article spinner to help you spin your articles so you can build hundreds of backlinks with a single article.
- Visual Aid, multi threading, and proxy support for true hands free article submissions.
On paper this looks good. And it is good. But the benefit comes from knowing how to use this piece of software effectively. If you don’t, then don’t waste your money. Go spend it at starbucks.
What I Like About Article Demon
Well Article Demon has quite a lot going for it. The features mentioned above add quite a lot to the mix. Now I know you might be saying “not another directory submitter.” There are like at least a handful of other automatic directory submitters on the market, but most of them only support one or two kinds of directories. ArticleDemon supports Article MS, Article Friendly, Article Dashboard, Article Beach and WordPress Articles. These (especially wordpress) are the most common directory scripts out there, meaning you can add a crap load of your own “finds.” This itself makes ArticleDemon pretty powerful — not so much the overused 100 directories that come with the software, but directories you can add yourself.
It also features a fully functional spinner — but truth be told, I don’t bother using it. The Best Spinner is light years ahead of ArticleDemon’s. But if you don’t have another spinner handy, I suppose you can “get by” with the default spinner.
Probably the biggest thing going for this piece of software is that it’s easy to use. If you’ve used Bookmarking Demon (and most of you probably have), you’ll already know enough to just jump in and start submitting crap to the web. If you haven’t used Bookmarking Demon, it’s still brain-dead easy to use ArticleDemon.
A Few Setbacks
The program is not perfect. One thing I have noticed is that a LOT of directories that are valid directories fail to be recognized when you try adding them. I actually think there failure rate is something along the lines of 50-70 percent in fact — and these are wordpress, articledashboard, and other supported directories that should work too. So Article Demon’s recognition patterns are somewhat flawed. I suspect in the next weeks and months as the program gets bug fixes, this will be fixed.
Future Updates?
There is a LOT of potential in the future with this program. Bookmarking Demon is already on it’s 5th version after a good 3 years, so it’s probably safe to say we’ll be seeing a lot of updates with ArticleDemon — as Edwinsoft has a pretty proven track for keeping their products updated. And like all Edwinsoft products, you get free upgrades for life.
A few updates I’d like to see is the ability to add MORE directory types than just the default 5. For example, tossing in NextAge Tech, Subrion CMS & Inoutscripts, and Article Script, and a few others would made this program even more deadly. I suspect we will see this functionality in the future.
Article Demon VS. Article Marketing Robot
There are a few other similar programs out there that do similar things: Magical Article Submitter and Article Marketing Robot. By far, Article Marketing Robot is better than Magic Article Submitter, which made it the king of the directory submission programs. How does it stack up against Article Demon? I know you people will be asking that, so here’s my comparison.
Article Marketing Robot (AMR)
Pros
- Currently has over 1500 directories included
- Support for more directory scripts than AD
- $50 bucks cheaper than Article Demon
- Submissions go faster (lacks the Antibot feature which drops the success rate)
- Can auto create accounts
- Monitors the “power” of the directories
- Can post to your own wordpress blogs
Cons
- Interface ugly and clunky. Buttons way too similar
- NO SUPPORT FOR PRIVATE PROXIES
- Limited to ONe capatcha breaker service (AD has two choices)
- No Ability to Add Pen Names to Accounts (important for some directories)
- It will create a cache HTML file for every submission you make. It can clutter the hard disk
Article Demon (AD)
Pros
- Interface very clean and easy to use
- Submission reporting much more detailed
- Can set up pen names (for some directories like Article Dashboard, important)
- Auto-creation of accounts
- You can repost failed submissions
- Category targeting more specific (will result in more successes)
- Includes AntiBot mechanism (slower posting than AMD, but more success rates)
- You can add your own directories!
- Has a synonym harvester for spinner!
Cons
- Out of the box, only comes with 100 with 200 bonus directories. Small compared to Article Marketing Robot’s 1500+ strong list
- Costs 127 bucks
- No support for posting to your own wordpress blogs (yet)
Conclusion
Well as far as user interface, Article Demon wins hands down. The program looks slick and it’s easy to use; Article Marketing Robot looks like it was made by a bunch of high school kids — really. But where Article Demon is really lacking is the number of directories. Only starting out with 100 directories HURTS, and even with the 200 bonus directory list, that’s 300 directories versus 1500+. If it was just off this, I’d say get Article Marketing Robot for sure, crappy interface or no. However, the saving grace for Article Demon is the fact that you CAN add your own directories. This makes the program far more powerful IF you spend the time building up your own list. So it’s got more potential. Currently, my own list is around 1800 directories strong with Article Demon, so this fact is a moot point. Actually, it’s good that Article Demon only has a few directories from the get go — it keeps the other directories out there stronger since they are not being slammed to death with eager Article Demon users.
Article Demon also has better support. Based on my experience with Bookmarking Demon, I’d definitely say this is the case. So you can expect upgrades for years to come. I also don’t like how AMR does not have support for private proxies. This is a product killer for me right there. If you can’t put in private proxies, your submissions will yield less and less results over time since your IP’s may get banned from various directories. I also love the fact that Article Demon can check and tell you want submissions get posted.
So after using both, I’d say I’m hugely in favor of Article Demon over Article Marketing Robot, despite the fact that AMR has way more directories right off the bat. With a little directory list building on your part, Article Demon is better. Let’s just hope they add MORE support for additional directory scripts.
So Is It Worth It?
In one word, yes. This is a very powerful program, provided you use it right. Now ArticleDemon comes with a default 100 (and there is a 200 directory bonus directory list they throw in). If you buy Article Demon through my link, I’ll throw in my own custom list of 1300 1573 2300 now 2850 directories. Want proof of my directory list for ArticleBot? You can look at a picture (click on it) I took showing you the directory list I’ve put together and the number of successful account creations on them. Here I’ve made accounts on over 850 directories out of the 1300 directories I’ve added. However, I could bumped that figure up to 1200 or so successful account creations if I used a non-free email like a domain email or ISP email. You’ll find a significant number of directories don’t allow registration with gmail, hotmail, or any other free email service.
And here’s more proof (this was taken March, 2011): I have 2800 directories added — about 2500 more than what comes with the default.
Now this is normally where reviews stop short, but let’s dig a little deeper into the benefits of Article Demon and how you can use it to rank your sites effectively. As they say, it’s not the sword that makes the man, but that man that makes the sword. In plain English: if you don’t know how to use ArticleDemon the RIGHT way to build backlinks, you won’t get the value you are looking for from it. Article Demon Strategies
A brief detour into the basics of SEO and backlinking so bare with me here, it’s relevant
Now as any real SEO knows, ranking sites has more to do with backlinks than anything else. I’m assuming if you have arrived at this site, you know what a backlink is.
The frustration most people have with getting backlinks is that it’s a pain in the ass to get them – at least the good ones. You basically have two choices here: get a lot of crappy, easy-to-get ones or focus on the hard-to-get authority links. In reality, you’ll want a mix of BOTH types of links to rank well. But for lazy people like myself, it’s often way easier to pursue the easy-to-get links. This is where Article Demon really shines.
First a bit about “crappy links”
In general, if you are looking for easy links, your options are generally limited to the following:
- Article Directory Links
- Web 2.0 Links
- Bookmarks
- RSS Links
- Forum Profiles
- Forum Posts
- Comment Links
- Backlink Networks
- SPAM
Let’s look at these:
Web 2.0 Links
Web 2.0 links can be effective, but it usually takes time to create and build these type of properties (hubpages.com/infobarrel.com/squidoo.com/blogger.com, etc). There are some Backlink Programs that do this for you (in a way) such as SENUKE, but I find it’s just better to create your own, the results are usually better.
Bookmarking Links
Bookmarks have been devalued so much these days that they provide almost no backlink power. They are now only useful to get your sites indexed fast. Comment links can work if you get hundreds or thousands of them, but Google has been devaluing comment links and I expect these links won’t do too much in the near future. I personally use BookmarkingDemon to backlink sites, but more to get them indexed then to rank them (which it does not do anymore).
RSS Links
You can submit your RSS feeds to RSS aggrigator websites. This is quick and dirty means of getting a few extra links. The links themselves don’t hold too much power, but you can automate the process somewhat with programs like RSSBOT and RSSSUBMIT.
Profile Links
Another way of getting some quick links. There are lots of automated programs (such as Xrummer) that build fake profiles for links. By themselves they usually don’t do too much, but they bump up your backlink count, which can help rank.
Forum Posts
Spammers love this type of link because it’s easy to get thousands of forum posts automatically. Can be effective if done right — but it’s hard not to “spam” to get these unless you do it manually.
Backlink Networks
Backlink Networks are a great way to get fast, quality links to your sites, but you are usually going to pay somewhere between 60 to 150 dollars a month for the privalage of using one of these. For some people, like myself, who are making enough money to cover these costs, it’s worth it. For others, it’s too expensive.
Some of the more effective networks to look at, if you have the cash:
- Unique Article Wizard
- Build My Rank
- SENUKE
- LinkVana
SPAM
I won’t get into the whole “should I spam or not spam” debate here. Spamming is an easy way to build some backlinks, but it’s getting harder to do so effectively. Spammers usually utilize forum/blog profiles, forum posts, and blog comments.
Which brings us to the final type of link AND the power of ArticleDemon…
Article Directory Links
These are some of the better links out there. Article directory links hold a lot more backlink value than say bookmarking links or comment links. And it’s EASY to find article directories practically begging people to submit articles. ArticleDemon makes getting these links practically brainless.
Now first off, what is an article link? Basically, you write an article (or if you are smart, spin it) and submit it to a website that “posts” that article. The website gets free content, you get a backlink. This is a win win situation.
However, the problem with article directory links is that it can take you a LONG time to both write an article, register an article directory account, then post that article. There are literally thousands of article directories floating around on the web. Imagine trying to post an article to 500 directories? It would take you days of grunt work to do so. And just to backlink one site! I’m all about spending quality time backlinking myself, but it’s a hideous waste of time doing something like that when you don’t have to.
Now there have been other programs that try and automate this process such as Magic Article Submiter. But pretty much every program I’ve tried is clunky, ends up with outdated directories which stop accepting submissions, or simply stops working effectively.
ArticleDemon, on the other hand, is created by the guys behind BookMarking Demon, a program that’s still being updated several years after being released! This lends this program some pretty good cred.
I use and abuse ArticeDemon because it’s so damn effective. It comes with 100 article directories right off the bat, with support for as many directories (as long as they are the 5 support types) as you might want to add. This is BIG BIG folks, as there are thousands of those directories floating around on the web. I actually spent a solid month developing a single program myself using Ubot. However, I’ve since modified the program somewhat, using it to submit to higher quality web 2.0s while I use ArticleDemon to target article directories. It’s a lethal combination.
How to Use ArticleDemon Effectively
Ah, now we come to the real crux of the article. How can you use this beast effectively? I’ve been using this software for a while now (even though it’s pretty new…I had early access) and to get the most out of it, you need to learn how to use it effectively.
Here are a few tips on how to use ArticleDemon to rank like a Demon!
SPIN YOUR ARTICLES AND SPIN THEM WELL
ArticleDemon allows you to spin articles. Do it.
Why? Well this should be quite obvious to most of you by now. Google inflects a duplicate content penalty for duplicate content. In English, that means if you start plastering the same content around on different websites, the page that content is located on will either get added to a supplementary index (meaning worthless) or won’t be indexed at all (also worthless). And although there are some “tricks” you can do to rank duplicate content, it’s generally not worth your time putting that type of effort in. So in plain English again: duplicate content = BAD.
Spinning articles allows you to take a single article and generate multiple unique copies from that article. The rule of thumb is to create an article that’s 30% unique when you spin it. If you don’t know how to spin an article, look it up on the web. There are also some pretty good spinning programs that help make the task easier, the best of which is, The Best Spinner. The more submissions you do, the more unique you’ll need to make your article. Don’t expect a 30% spin to get you thousands of indexed submissions! My rule of thumb is 30-40% unique is probably good for 50-100 submissions.
People always want to take the easy way when it comes to spinning. Auto spins seem to be the rage now, but it’s worth your time to do a proper MANUAL spin. Why? Because the article is readable, contributes some value, and even more important, is likely to get a much higher ACCEPTANCE rate with article directories. Remember, a large number of the directories are manual-approval. If you do a shit spin, the administrator won’t approve your article submission. So do it right the first time, even it takes 45 minutes rather than 2 minutes.
ADD YOUR OWN ARTICLE DIRECTORIES
There are literally thousands of article directories floating around on the web. It’s well worth your time compiling your own list of wordpress directories and other support directories (wordpress ones are by far the most common) so you can add them to the program.
The default 100 directories are SIMPLY TO GET YOU GOING. If you guys want to really see some results, you are going to have to add your own list of directories to the mix – ones that are not being abused by thousands of other ArticleDemon users slamming the same directories with the software.
But Gurtrude, how do I find my own directories?
So it’s one thing to tell people to “add their own directories.” I’m willing to bet most of you don’t know how to do that. So here’s a good start: each article directory uses some sort of script with a footprint. You can “search” for those footprints on google; ergo, the results with that footprint that show up are that kind of directory. Simple, eh? Here are a few standard footprints for the 5 different kinds of article directories.

- “If you have hired a ghost writer, you agree that you have”
- “Publish your article in RSS format for other websites to syndicate”"
- Do not submit articles filled with spelling errors and bad grammar”

So there you have it. You should be able to put together a decent-sized CUSTOM list of directories.
GET ARTICLES INDEXED: BOOKMARK SUCCESSFUL POSTS
ArticleDemon has a very useful feature that shows you if your posts have been published. However, many of the crappy article directories don’t have a lot of backlinks to them and your article posts may not end up getting indexed by google. If your post doesn’t get indexed, you don’t get the backlink. But there is something you can do about it to make sure you get almost ALL your article submissions counted as backlinks by google. BOOKMARK THEM.
Now this requires you to have Bookmarking demon because you may have hundreds of articles in one go and you are NOT going to want to manually bookmark each one.
…How to Bookmark published ArticleDemon posts….
1. Look at the Published? section in ArticleDemon and get a list of published posts for a project. Make sure you export that list.
2. Open up Bookmarking Demon and add that list of directories to your bookmarking queue
3. Bookmark away. If you don’t want to deal with typing in captachas, only select bookmarking sites that are NoCaptacha.
4. Watch your posts get indexed fast and become more valuable as links
BACKLINK SUCCESSFUL POSTS:
Now, one of the biggest secrets to SEO is this: backlink your backlinks. What?! Yep, by backlinking your arguably crappy backlinks, you give those links a crapload more power.
You see, google doesn’t treat all backlinks the same. A backlink from say CNN.com holds thousands of times more “ranking value” than does a backlink from some no name article directory. Why is this? Because CNN has massive authority and trust due to the millions of backlinks pointing there. But your little no name article directory post is likely on a website with few backlinks pointing to it. This means there is not a lot of “backlink juice” you are going to get from that link.
However, if you send backlinks to that link, you suddenly give that backlink more weight, which in turn helps increase the ranking of the site the backlink is pointing to. Easy right?
Now granted you’ll likely have hundreds of articles to backlink. This is where automation comes in: you’ll need to look at using spam tools, bookmarking demon (as I’ve mentioned above), and even do article directory submissions on some of the submissions! I may talk a bit more about this in future posts.
VISUAL AID — USE IT
Complete Automation = Deadly. If you are willing to spend a bit more than the average person, you can completely automate ArticleDemon and increase the submission effectiveness.
Now, one of the best features is the use of Visual Aid. This is a service that basically outsources your captachas to Indians. Each capatcha ArticleDemon encounters will be sent to a website that then gives the image to a person who types in the image. The result is sent back to ArticleDemon and the captacha successfully entered. This saves you a LOT of time. Folks, if you don’t use this, you can expect to spend all day in front of your computer entering captachas. No fun.
To activate this service: you create an account with decaptcher.com. You add some money on it, say $10, which gets you 5000 capatchas broken. Visual Aid actually takes a cut, which bumps the price up to 2500 captachas solved per $10.
PRIVATE PROXIES
When most people hear private proxies, they get this confused look. Private proxies are not confusing and EASY to use actually. Private proxies are basically private IP addresses that are used as a “buffer” to connect to the web. This protects your own IP address from nastyness.
You may think you won’t need private proxies, but you actually do, especially if you want to submit articles en bulk. Most article directories have built in SPAM protection that blocks or ban’s an IP that submits too many articles within a certain period of time. Say you have 20 articles queued up in ArticleDemon and you let er rip. That means that every article directory is going to get 20 article submissions. Most of the directories will ban your IP long before you reach your 20th article. And after you are banned, you won’t ever be able to submit to that directory again. That is, not unless you use private proxies to do the submissions!
Many private proxy companies rent packs of IP’s. I personally recommend yourprivateproxy as a reliable service. For 30 bucks a month you can get 10 private proxies. This means that instead of being able to post 10 articles to each article directory, you could potentially post 100 or even 200. As you see, you can’t really enjoy the benefits of ArticleDemon without having private proxies. Sorry, it is what it is folks. You can also use your private proxies with Bookmarking Demon, your internet browser, and a ton of other internet marketing programs out there, so it’s not a wasted investment!
CREATE MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS
For whatever reason, accounts you create with ArticleDemon will start becoming less and less effective as time goes on. It could be the account was banned or flagged because you submitted too many articles, etc. So make sure you create between 5-10 accounts. This will ensure you can keep your posted success rate high.
SCHEDUAL BACKLINKS FOR GODS SAKE
ArticleDemon allows you to schedule your article submissions. Guys, for the love of god, USE this feature. I would be leaving something out in the article demon review if I did NOT tell you this. In my years of ranking sites and making money online, I’ve learned something important:
Getting Backlinks = Very Good!
Getting Backlinks FAST = Very Bad!
If you take your brand new little website, then abuse Article Demon by slamming 100’s of article directory links to it, I can assure you that will do more harm than good. The key is to slowly, NATURALLY tickle your links out. The older the site (and the more links it has), the more links you can throw at it.
USE A DOMAIN EMAIL NOT FREE EMAIL SERVICES LIKE GMAIL OR HOTMAIL
If you use gmail, hotmail, yahoomail or any of the well known free email services to sign up, your account creation success rate will fall dramatically (I’d say 30-50%!). The best way to ensure you can create your account on the maximum number of directories is to use your own domain email. If you don’t know how to set this up, it’s actually pretty easy. I’m not going to go into that here, but you basically go to google business apps and you can create a whateveremailname@yourdomainname.com, provided you have ftp access to a domain name. Do a google search on how to do this if you don’t know how.
Final Word
So should you buy Article Demon? If you’ve got the $126 bones available, then absolutely yes. It’s a great way to pick up a lot of extra backlinks, and backlinks ARE how you rank your sites folks. Don’t believe any website or person who claims using this program will make you millions. It won’t. To see results, you are going to have to spend the time creating quality spins of your articles, create a custom list of article directories (because folks, the default list that comes with ArticleDemon is going to be worthless after thousands of eager people slam millions of articles to them, compliments of Article Demon), manged how many backlinks you are sending to your site, and backlink your backlinks.
